Higdon is a Sand Mountain community straddling the Jackson–DeKalb county line along AL-71, a place small enough that the school is the skyline: North Sand Mountain School, a K-12 campus of roughly 660 students at 29333 AL Highway 71, is the community's heartbeat — Bison games, school events, and daily life all orbit the same address. The post office has carried the Higdon name since 1882, and the land around it is working plateau: poultry houses in long rows, cattle pasture, barns of every age and angle of lean, and family homes that pass down through generations until the day they need a full reset. That reset is our work here — chicken-house tear-downs, barn demolitions, farm and estate cleanouts, renovations, and storm debris after a mountain storm does its damage. Higdon has no rental yard of its own and never will; what it has is a regular place on TriState Dump It's Sand Mountain route, with 14-day rentals, flat published prices, and drivers who understand that a farm address means a lane, a gate, and a dog, in that order.

The 12-yard rents for $250, the 16-yard for $325, the 20-yard for $415, and the 30-yard for $625. Delivery to your Higdon property, pickup, disposal, and 14 days are inside those numbers. The only additions that can ever appear are weight past your included tonnage at $75 a ton and extra days at $10 a day — quoted here, before you book, not after.
Plan on the 30-yard. A poultry house is mostly air until it comes down — then it is a mountain of lumber, tin, wire, and equipment that fills volume fast and weighs more than it looks. Most Higdon tear-downs also schedule one swap mid-job, and the 30-yard's 4 included tons keep the weight math on your side. Call (256) 548-6021 with the house's dimensions and we will stage it with you.
Two tons are included with the 12-, 16-, and 20-yard containers; the 30-yard includes four tons. Every load crosses a scale, and anything beyond the included weight bills at $75 per ton off the actual ticket. Shingles, saturated lumber, and demolition debris are the usual heavy loads on Sand Mountain.
Nearly everything a farm or renovation produces: lumber, tin and metal roofing, drywall, shingles, fencing, appliances, furniture, brush. The exceptions are hazardous — paint, chemicals, batteries, tires, fuel, oil, asbestos, electronics. Old fuel jugs and chemical containers turn up on almost every farm cleanout here; set those aside for their own disposal path.
Higdon is on our standard Sand Mountain route — AL-71 both directions, toward Flat Rock and Bryant on the north end and down toward Pisgah and Section — plus the county roads and farm lanes in between. If your address is a Higdon address, it is a delivery address; the only homework is telling us about gates, lanes, and soft ground.
Fourteen days are included in the rental price. Farm schedules bend around weather and livestock, and we bend with them: extra days cost $10 each, arranged with a call before the pickup date. No penalty structure sits behind that rate.
A small barn or equipment shed, broken down as it comes apart, fits the 16-yard. A full-size barn — posts, beams, tin, and a loft's worth of stored decades — is 20-yard work at minimum, and most Higdon barn jobs land in the 30-yard with a swap. Beam lumber is dense; when in doubt, size for weight, not volume.
Yes. Limbs, brush, blown-down timber, and damaged fencing are standard storm loads up here. Two cautions: dirt is not a dumpster load, and stumps are the heaviest single items a farm produces — a 30-yard with swaps is the right pattern for serious clearing.
Yes. Contractors building on the plateau keep containers rotating with us, and landlords use us for turnovers between tenants across the north end of Sand Mountain. Repeat work gets a standing rhythm — call (256) 548-6021 once and the swaps schedule themselves around your crew.
You can, and on estate and farm jobs you almost always do — house contents in with barn lumber and renovation debris. Sort out only the hazardous items, load heavy material low, and a single container can clear a whole Higdon property line to line.
Book through the online booking page — size, date, done — or call (256) 548-6021 and describe the property to someone who knows what a Sand Mountain farm lane means for a delivery truck.
Work it in rings: the house alone is usually a 20-yard; add the barn and sheds and you are in 30-yard territory, often with a swap. A focused cleanout — one building, one purpose — can drop to the 16-yard. The honest way to size it is a two-minute call describing what is actually standing on the property.
The 16-yard does the most renovation work in Higdon — big enough for a kitchen-and-bath project or several rooms of flooring and fixtures, small enough to sit comfortably in a farmhouse driveway. Whole-house guts step up to the 20-yard; single-room jobs step down to the 12.
When a Higdon farmhouse is torn open for renovation, its contents need a dry address of their own. Our mobile storage units cost $175, billed every 28 days, delivered to your property on the mountain — load once, at your pace, steps from the house.
Work crews, farm projects, and gatherings around North Sand Mountain School use our porta potty rentals at $140, billed every 28 days — delivered clean along AL-71 and serviced on route for as long as the job runs.
